The Newgrange Experience
The Newgrange Experience
The project is a web based interactive tour of Newgrange that teaches the viewer about the history of Newgrange, housed on a private viewing website that will be coded from scratch. Upon opening the webpage, a large image of the Newgrange site will be displayed on the screen. When a point of interest is clicked, image and audio narration will be played, both explaining historical information about the subject. The main informational focus is excavations, the mound itself, and what the solstice looks like.

The McKenna Clan
The McKenna Clan
Our project is to create an AR visual & audio interactive story. The idea of the story is based on our topic “Rituals” and there are two sides to the meaning. It can be a positive or negative way to present it. We have decided to choose sacrifice for our story theme. The story is about an Irish family that lived along the coast of Ireland. The character Finn has a range of elemental powers and saves his family lives from a tsunami. In the end, Finn gives up his own life to save his family life, but themes of love, bonding, and family can also be seen through the story through the family spending time together before a tsunami threatens to tear the family apart. The ending, while a bit on the darker side as Finn turns into a wall giving up his life, shows the sacrifice Finn was willing to make to save the people he loves most.

The Empire of Fallere
The Empire of Fallere
‘The Empire of Fallere’ is an interactive audiovisual novel set in a dystopian fantasy world where humans and monsters battle for survival. In this world, the desert covers most of the planet, leaving the remaining civilizations to create their own oasis as shelters and protection, while the monsters are ravaged by sand storms and hunger. The story follows the footsteps of Nika and Youri, an orphan and her adoptive brother, through their lives within the walls of Fallere and its ritual of human sacrifice for the sake of salvation, or so it seems. This project is a test of how far the team can elevate a written narrative through mixed media, with the website being our main base of choice. By simply scrolling down through engaging visuals, animations, and sounds, users will be able to explore layers of the story and a sinister secret that is slowly unfolding.

Trá
Trá
Our project is based on the theme of Childhood Rituals on the beach. Our aim is to transport people back to how they were as children, and to make them feel nostalgic and to have fun. The interactive sand installation will be a box of sand where people move the sand around with their hands, and then different sounds will come through the headphones as the hands move. The interactive water installation will be a moving image of a magical interpretation of the sea, which will be projected onto the wall. Whenever people move in front of it, the camera will pick up the movement and the image will move around. This captures the way in which most children play with water at the beach. There will also be a beachy musical ambiance played in the exhibition room. It will capture the sounds and feelings of the beach and will be relaxing and soothing for the people to hear. There is also a video that will be projected onto one of the walls. This is a video of a view of the sea, and it will have beach chairs in front of it so that people can sit there and relax.

Witches Hut
Witches Hut
This project is an immersive experience for the user. It is essentially an interactive witch’s hut. Users can walk around our exhibit tinkering with different objects that allow them to help the Grandmother Witch and her bubbly young granddaughter practice their potion making. Users take potions and scan them into the reader to build their potions according to the challenges given by the characters, they must succeed before moving on to the next challenge. At the end, users are given a “Witches Apprentice” certificate if they succeed in all challenges. It will keep a consistent and unique aesthetic that compliments the corresponding interactivity.
